Dr. Roy Pinder -FOUNDER
Gym Time Hoops was founded by Dr. Roy Pinder, who is an entrepreneur, educator, inspirational speaker and author. Dr. Pinder is the president of Mind Trotters – a career development company, and Save Our Youth Development Foundation – a nonprofit organization; he is the Editor in Chief of his own magazine, “In the Zone”, and lectures business courses at several colleges and universities. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University and his MBA from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Pinder obtained his doctorate degree in Business Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. He is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. He volunteered for the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club for over ten years. He has played collegiate basketball, in which he had a successful career. He flirted with the opportunity to play professional basketball for a short period of time. Dr. Pinder has served as a high school basketball coach and currently coaches youth basketball teams. Dr. Pinder began his career as an accountant for The Williams Company. During that time, he served in several capacities, which include lead accountant, project lead, a member of the college recruiting team, and chairman of the diversity committee. Dr. Pinder served as the Business Program Department Chair at Community Care College for several years, before he established a career development company. Dr. Pinder is also a writer for VYPE magazine. Since 2000, he has hosted and participated in seminars and basketball camps nationally and internationally, to introduce individuals to the concept of leadership and teamwork. He is actively involved in youth development, and has created youth life skill programs. Having a passion for leadership and teamwork, Dr. Pinder believes that synergy is the foundation to leadership and teamwork. He plans to extend on this concept through research and his authorship.
