The Fabulous Five Freshman’s have showed over time in particular the last year during club basketball (AAU season), team camps, local/national tournaments, and exposure camps that they are consistently among the elite in their class of 2021. Individuals on the Fab Five individuals list are currently skilled at their position and shown a high level of consistency.  GTH will not come out with an actual ranking until the spring of 2018 for this class of 2021, by this time individuals would have played their HS season and spring AAU season.

The class of 2021 has been identified as one of the special ones with the wealth of talent by Oklahoma standards. We have been watching this call since the first grade and many plyers emerged, but a few begin to separate themselves with their consistent level of play over time.  Individuals such as Marty Perry lead the class up through last year, but did not see much of him over the last year due to injuries. The same applies for Delante Shannon, who could be in the conversation for the Fab Five, but injuries limit his activity over the last year. Both may emerge later in the conversation, however the Fab Five Freshman are the following. 

Tre Alexander - 6’3 -SF – Heritage Hall

Tre has demonstrated a consistently level play at a high level. He has the ability to score on three levels. Alexander is a smooth operator on offense and deceptively quick. He has a good handle on the ball and can facilitate and be a play maker. Tre has good length and good athleticism. He finishes around the basket well and when he gets going can hit the long ball from deep.  He has a nice change of direction dribble, but enjoys playing downhill. Tre plays with great energy and constantly motivating his team mates on both ends of the court. Once Tre develops more of his mid-range game…Watch out! Love his upside, will be fun to watch.

Tyler Pinder - 5’10 - PG - Broken Arrow

Tyler has demonstrated over the years that he can get it done at an elite level as a PG. He is very smooth and glides when he plays. His strong frame with good length for a PG gives him a nice edge. He has an elite strong quick handle on the ball and one of the purest shooters in the class. . His speed and quickness keeps him a step ahead of the defense as a play maker or scorer. He has a quick first step.  Pinder has nice three ball with a quick release that keeps the defense of balance. But Pinder vision and IQ is advance and what keeps him among the top in the class. Defensively very tough on the ball and embraces the opportunity.  He needs to be more aggressive on the offensive side the ball Pinder has a great upside and will be exciting to watch evolve.

Tobias Roland - 6’3 - PF - PC West

Roland is a physical specimen with good athleticism; he also has a high motor that keeps him going. He is extremely tough around the basket and loves contact. Roland has a respectable mid-range and working on his perimeter game away from the basket. Roland is one of the few players in the class who can play above the rim and dominate the game in the paint. Roland’s growth will come on refining his perimeter game to improve his overall game for the high school level.

James Locke - 6’2 - CG - Carl Albert

Locke maybe new to scene as it relates to being mentioned in the top of the class. But once you watch him plays he just make shots from all three levels, plays hard on every position and really athletic with good size and skill. Those attributes makes it tough for him not to be mentioned in the Fab Five. Locke is also a relentless rebounder who can start the break and facilitate the offense in transition. Mentally he is just tough and has a workman attitude on the court. Locke has a chance to remain in the top of his class with his steady growth and becoming more efficient offensively.   

Jackson Robinson – 6’5 – SF Ada

Robinson upside maybe as high as any in the class to date, he can score form all three levels.  The kid is long and smooth, had a really good opportunity to watch him play at the CP3 camp and he did not disappoint. Robinson was active on the boards and is a really good passer of the dribble. He finishes with a lot of creativity and will go on the boards and bang despite his wiry frame. Robinson has a good feel for the game and with some added strength and if he continues to grow, he could be a 6’8 wing with skills. Now his upside becomes very interesting.
