Class of 2023 The Fabulous Five Freshmen in Oklahoma...

Jacobe Johnson | 6’3 | CG | Mustang

Jacobe has been on the big stage for a while; he has propelled himself on to the national stage with his high skill level. Jacobe is an elite scorer, he has good size for a combo guard and a great feel for the game. He is really good of the dribble; get to any spot on the court comfortably and at will. His strength plus size allows him to finish through contact and front line defenders. His long range is consistent and along with his sounds IQ. Jacobe should see heavy minutes in his freshman campaign and don’t be surprise to see him put up impressive offensive numbers this year.  Jacobe hopes to bring the Mustangs back to the state conversation as Terry Long and son Jakobie Long did back in 2015 – 2016.

Wandang Wel | 6’11 | C/PF | RLTC Prep

Wadang AKA “Pop” has a chance to be a very special player, his feel for the game is excellent for his age. He is already has the three R’s for an elite big prospect; Rebound, Rim protector, can Run. Pop runs the floor like a Gazelle and has the motor to compliment it He also has a nice stroke from beyond the arc and great touch around the basket. He is also can shoot the ball with both hands comfortably.  This young prospect has a chance to be in the national conversation early because of natural physical gifts and work ethic. Pop will be in the middle for the Lions, who will be playing a national schedule competing against some of the nation’s best, this will be a good challenge for the young big freshman.

Jeremiah Johnson |6’2 | PG | Putnam City North

Jeremiah is a dynamic PG and is ahead in this class. Johnson feel for the game is superb, shows great patience and places with outstanding pace. Johnson is the PG you want leading the charge, does a good job getting others involved in the game, while getting good numbers offensively. Johnson elite ball handling skills allows him to put pressure on the defense and his creativity around the basket strong. His long ball is deadly with space and he has good looking floater. Jeremiah has been on the national stage for a while proving himself against some of the nation’s best.  Jeremiah will be with a talented HS group and may not put up individual impressive numbers, but his PG play will help PC North be in serious contention for the Gold Ball.

Terry McMorris | 6’5 | PF | Del City

McMorris is probably the best athlete in the class, long and active with a high motor. All he does is show up to play and compete against the nation’s best year round.  McMorris is super active around the glass and a nice rim protector. He floats down the floor and has good hands, which is reflective in his strong finishes. Defensively he can step out and defend perimeter players, which makes him great in the new age of individuals playing multiple positions.  Del City has a mature group this year, but having an athlete like McMorris will add to their depth and give them a strong run at dethroning those Tulsa Memorial Chargers

Jaden Foreman | 6’4 | PF | Del City

Foreman is a tough skill bruising big who gets it done inside and out. He has strong looking frame and fluid in his movement. He plays with a chip and gifted offensively. Foreman is tough around the basket and can finish in a variety of ways. He can also knock down the long ball of the dribble and catch and shoot. Foreman can also facilitate from the point guard spot, his sound vision allows him to be an effective playmaker. Foreman will have an opportunity to add to the depth of a loaded Del City squad who will compete for the Gold ball in 5A

*David Oyona | 6’10 | C | Sunrise Christian

Oyona despite transferring across the state line to Kansas, Oyona still has to be considered in the Fabulous Five. Oyona has raised havoc on the national scene with his tough physical play. He is identified as one of the premiere big men in the country.  . Oyona does most of his work in the paint and rim protecting, but as he develops he will have a chance to remain at the top of the national conversation. Playing at a loaded Sunrise Christian he may have to wait his turn, but you can be sure he will getting better daily during practice.
