Oklahoma Boys Team Evaluation

Our system to evaluate teams is based on strength of schedule and not so much how many they have won, but more of who they played. Many teams in the state of Oklahoma have played an abundance of games and may have more wins than other teams. But the quality of wins and losses is important. While there is no perfect science to this level on ranking teams with so many player movements weekly, here is what we came up with through the spring season. Naturally this order could change as we move into the summer season.

The 17U division has seen more national level teams this year than there have been in the past. At the top, Team Griffin plays in the toughest league (EYBL) in the country and their quality of loss still keeps them a top our poll. Run PWP, plays in the Under Armor Association, which is up and coming and also has a good quality of play. OKC Prime Time has a group of kids that has played together for a long time and shows their discipline and toughness on the floor. Primetime also plays a tough travel schedule. GTH Elite Inaugural season back on the circuit has a group of experience kids who played the EYBL last season and plays a tough schedule. While they had some tough losses early in the season, they will stay in the conversation.  Young Ballers plays on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit and see the top kids in the country in their league. Naturally this keeps them in the conversation in the state.

  1. Team Griffin

  3. OKC Prime Time
  4. Young Ballers
  5. GTH Elite

Honorable Mention – BTR and OK Wolf Pack

16U Teams

OK Run PWP clearly in the front runner in the 16U division, they are very athletic and have a few D1 players on their squad. OKC Primetime again is a well oil machine; this group has been together from their inception of playing basketball. They play hard and know their roles. Young Ballers has some good guard play and also plays a tough schedule. OKC Wolf Pack just stays in the conversation with the tough play.

  1. OK Run PWP
  2. OKC Prime Time
  3. Young Ballers
  4. Team Griffin
  5. OKC  Wolf Pack

15U Teams

This group is surprisingly very talented; a lot of really good national level type teams are in the state. Whoever can bring a group of players together with this group may have something the state has not seen in a long time in terms of talent. This group has elite front court players, great wings with size and skills and always we have good guard play in the state of Oklahoma.

  1. Team 4XIII
  2. BTR
  3. PWP East
  4. GTH Elite
  5. Team Griffin

Honorable Mention - PWP West

14U Teams

4XII has beaten most of the top teams in the state and have traveled outside the state and done the same. This group has been together for a while and just plays hard. BTR has put together a nice group who plays hard and just wants to compete. PWP East plays sound and experience and time keeps them in the conversation. GTH Elite, probably the biggest team in the class, with three guys 6’6 and above is putting things together nicely. Team Griffin plays hard and tough. They are young in terms of playing experience at the elite level.

  1. Team 4XIII
  2. Norman Elite
  3. Team Griffin
  4. PWP
  5. Team Purpose

13U Teams

  1. USA Elite
  2. Tulsa All Stars
  3. AET Elite
  4. GTH Elite
  5. Team Tulsa

Honorable Mention – Impact Athletics, Team Infinity

This class is loaded with talent, very special players have been identified in this class, naturally too early to put a stamp on the individual talent, but the teams are just as good. USA Elite currently has the best team because of their strength of schedule and guys playing together well. Tulsa All Stars is right there; those guys play hard and have a good looking group of players. OKC Elite has kept a group together and have a couple of good pieces that makes that team go. GTH Elite has a good group, they can make a good run for the top spot, but their top player is also the lead guard for the 2019/9th grade team. Team Tulsa, has guys who have played together for a long time and just plays hard on both ends of the floor.
